Howard, PA – Goot Essa has grown its retail and wholesale cheese-making business in July with the addition of two more employees. According to Goot Essa CEO John L. Esh Jr., Mark Thomas has accepted employment as Bookkeeper, and Joel “Brick” Brickell will be Fulfillment Manager. “We are grateful to have brought such qualified individuals on board,” said Esh. “Between them, they bring more than 50 years of expertise in precisely the areas where we need to scale our growing business.”
As the company’s primary financial manager, Mark will be responsible for payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, reporting, and internal auditing. He brings a wealth of management and financial experience gained over two decades at Pennsylvania organizations including Sears Holding Corporation, Southern Stone & Supply, and Johnson Brothers Accounting. Mark holds an accounting degree from the University of Oregon.
As Fulfillment Manager, Brick will lead the order fulfillment team, including both on-site and remote workers. His responsibilities will include overseeing all order fulfillment tasks for retail and wholesale purchases, maintaining order processing software and software integrations, ensuring customer satisfaction, managing customer payment processing, and ensuring accuracy and currency of product listings, internally and with external distribution partners. Brick has a Computer Science Associate of Science degree from Penn Foster College and has been certified as a police officer in Maryland and Virginia. In addition to his security work, he has managed technical support and client services for EnergyCAP, an area software publisher.
