Blackstone Cheese Tortellini Recipe with Farmhouse Flair

Dec 16, 2025

If you’ve been looking for cheese recipes that work on the griddle, this Blackstone cheese tortellini recipe might just become your new favorite. It’s quick, satisfying, and loaded with flavor, thanks to our small-batch Der Alpen Cheese.

We’ve taken the comfort of pasta, added a golden sear from the Blackstone, and finished it with the kind of cheese that makes every bite worth slowing down for.

This one’s great for a weeknight supper or feeding a hungry crew outdoors. We like to keep it simple, hearty, and full of flavor—just the way we like our meals around here.

A Cheesy Pasta with Sizzle

There’s something about cooking on the Blackstone that makes everything feel a little more special.

The hot, flat surface gives the tortellini just the right amount of crisp on the outside while keeping the cheesy filling soft and creamy inside. Add in a bit of butter, fresh herbs, and shredded Der Alpen Cheese, and you’ve got a dish that’s rustic, rich, and easy to love.

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 10–12 minutes | Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 (9 oz) package of cheese tortellini (fresh or refrigerated)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • ¾ cup shredded Goot Essa Der Alpen Cheese

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (or 1 teaspoon dried)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Optional: red pepper flakes or chopped sun-dried tomatoes

How to make it

  1. Cook tortellini according to the package instructions. Drain and toss with a splash of oil to keep it from sticking.

  2. Heat your Blackstone or flat-top griddle to medium heat. Add olive oil and butter.

  3. Once melted, add garlic and let it sizzle for 30 seconds.

  4. Toss the tortellini onto the hot surface and cook for about 5–6 minutes, flipping occasionally, until lightly golden.

  5. Sprinkle in the Der Alpen Cheese and continue cooking until melted and bubbly. Add parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat.

  6. Serve hot right from the griddle. If you're feeling fancy, top with a little more cheese or a dash of red pepper flakes.
